There are some basic rules to follow when choosing a login name. We suggest that you keep it short and familiar, preferably the same as or similar to other login names you use on a regular basis, so that it's easy to remember.
Note - Do NOT use the same password as you do for other systems, as they may not be secure and you would be increasing your exposure if an attacker was able to gain your password from one of them.
Login Name rules:
- Login Names must be between 4 and 255 characters long.
- You cannot have leading or trailing spaces, but spaces within the Login Name are acceptable.
- Do not use any character combinations that could be interpreted as HTML in either your Login Name or Password, as our server will block these.
- Login Names must be unique in ITM. If you choose a Login Name of John_Smith, and John_Smith already exists, you will need to choose another Login Name. For that reason, using your email address as your login name is a good idea - it is both unique to you
and easy to remember.
- Login Names are not case-sensitive. For example, John_Smith is the same as john_smith.
